The NOPHOTO collective opens its headquarters in Madrid, making headway in its structural and professional growth. The creative work center is located on Conde de Vistahermosa, 3 and has 150 square meters of common areas, meeting places and individual working spaces, as well as room for storage.

The NOPHOTO collective opens Matadero Madrid as a new cultural space with an exhibition titled MUTA MATADERO, which tells the visual story of the former municipal slaughterhouse, the Matadero, and its surroundings by mixing past, present and process through images from official archives, family albums, contemporary photography and documentary videos. Conceived, developed and produced by NOPHOTO for Madrid City Hall’s Department of the Arts, the project is exhibited in the former refrigeration warehouse of the Municipal Matadero and honors the monumentality of this place by strategically placing different unconventional photography and video projects within it. The exhibition formed part of the PHotoEspaña 2007 Festival and is complemented by a book published under the same name as the show, edited by the NOPHOTO collective itself.

On the third anniversary of the 11-M terrorist attacks in Madrid, the NOPHOTO collective publishes its project AFTER 11-M in El País Semanal with interviews and an article by Eva Lamarca. In the project, NOPHOTO takes the bombings on March 11, 2004, as a point of departure for a collective project in which the photographers approach these events with complete freedom, constituting a creative process in the first person. The end result of the project is compiled in a thirty-two minute documentary video called C-2 in which Jonás Bel offers an in-depth look at the photographers’ creative processes, serving as the narrative thread that binds this collective creation together.
