Following a framework that categorizes the city in economic terms, La Hostia Fine Arts proposes approaching the Usera neighborhood in Madrid as representative of the novel changes being produced in the city.
From an ironic, conscientious study of common areas found anywhere in the city (bars, cafeterias, supermarkets, etc.), a group of artists delves into discovering a sense of Spanish “authenticity” that no longer belongs to the nineteenth-century Paseo del Prado, with its trees and horse-carriages, but which peeks inside the alleys of Usera in this conceptual and experimental project.
“Family Business”, my work within this collective project is related with the source that named the neighborhood and the use of it in the names of the streets.
