Mucuripe´s fishermen are the last community of “jangadeiros” in Fortaleza (Ceara-Brazil), they still resist against tourism, surrounded by skyscrapers and expensives hotels. In the eighties their houses were removed from the beach to the “favelas” but they continue leaving their “jangadas” on the sand, developing their traditional way of life and doing a fish-market every morning near Saint Peter´s Church.
