Interference reorganizes perception and transforms looking; it may be perceived as unsettling or disturbing noise, undesirable effects in the way of representing reality. I draw from overlapping frequencies, from a lack of reception, to challenge certain fears. I need to move forward with them, to feel alive—even in delirium from the very act of contemplating confusion—and ask myself if some of this makes sense.

In China movement is incessant. Millions of workers move around following the steps of megacities and their transformation, which are restlessly demolished and constructed overnight, culminating in a floating reality.

I accept my inability to embrace and understand the world of China. I cannot describe its reality, for I require fiction to steady myself and achieve my objective. I attempt to capture obscure fragments and present them as a more or less coherent sequence of images, as in a dream.

The goal: Learning English.

The method: Memorizing by reading out loud.

The problem: You are in China, and that means you will never be alone. Millions of people are surrounding you 24 hours. There is no privacy, no intimacy, you are one of many. Wherever you are, you are always surrounded by a crowd that never stops. And university does not make any difference: Student rooms are crowded. Thus, reading out loud without bothering someone in your room is almost impossible. Students go away from their rooms looking for private space at the open air like if they were praying. But, they do not pray, they repeat and repeat their English text books.

The result: But memorizing and isolating is not always the best way to learn a foreign language, some human contact and improvisation is always needed.

I found this album among the remains of what used to be a building.

I would like to think that that woman was not at home on the day of the earthquake, or that she had enough time to escape before her life was turned into a pile of rubble.

Unique book completed after my second trip to China in 2003.

Shortly after arriving to China at the end of 2007, Professor Wan showed us this proverb in Mandarin class. I thought, just what I needed, remembering that I have to “fish,” study, work and take photos every day.
So in order not to forget it, I put it in large letters in the main room of my house. What I didn’t expect was the reaction of my Chinese friends. Upon seeing it for the first time, they told me that it was very wrong, or at least incomplete, because it should add that, to the contrary, fishing for three days and hanging the nets to dry for two was exactly what shouldn’t be done.
At first I excused myself saying they were right, but ultimately I would rather answer that it’s not so bad to work three days and rest for two. They laugh, and I suppose they’re thinking, well, these foreigners really know how to live.

Someone once told me that on Chinese New Year his father used to go to the town cemetery to light firecrackers in remembrance of his deceased friends and family.

The only cemetery I know in Wuhan is in the middle of a forest. I imagined it lit up by colorful explosions and with figures casting their shadows on gravestones.

In the end, I didn’t find anything like this. Even so, I think spending the night in a cemetery shooting off firecrackers or photos is a good way to start the year.

Amway offers a range of exclusive, competitive brands that meet customer needs around the world. From nutritional supplements to water treatment, cosmetics to cleaning products, these brands are the solid foundation for a successful, independent retail business. Learn more about Amway products by visiting the website at www.amway.com
I like Amway very much since it has helped me improve my own health. One of my friends introduced me to Amway, and after trying their products I found them highly beneficial for my health. Since then, I’ve learned more about Amway, not only its products, but also the company culture. Amway has a working environment with a positive attitude where members encourage each other, full of emotion. They fight for their own dreams, always keeping a very positive mentality. Amway is like a group of friends, more like a warm place to come home to than a company. Whenever you get knocked down, there are always some encouraging teachers and good friends to stand behind you and support you all the time.
After looking into Amway, I’ve been with them for over a year. Now I understand their philosophy. I can’t change the weather, but myself! Never give up, and fight for your dreams! My belief is No pain, no gain!

EXPULSION OF TOXINS
Amway often organizes activities on how to stay healthy, such as its retreat for expelling toxins. The purpose of this event is to cleanse your body of harmful substances and impurities. All of us live together in the mountains for three days, fasting and drinking only juice. We play, dance and sing a lot. This is the way we cleanse ourselves:
1. Urine --- Every morning when we get up, we need to go to the restroom to do this first!
2. Tears, runny nose --- In the evenings, we have some moving programs, like birthday parties for members who maybe didn’t celebrate their birthdays, which make us cry!
3. Perspiration with sports --- Everyday we have different sports activities, like climbing hills, running and so on.
4. Recreation --- We dance together, sing and play games where all members can participate.
5. Laughter --- All the activities are very entertaining, so everyone laughs all the time!
6. Taking in fresh air and having contact with nature --- Fresh air is very important, so we choose a quiet place with beautiful views for the retreat.
7. Sleep --- We play every day so we feel tired enough to fall asleep quickly and have a good rest!
9. Diet / Fasting --- For three days we eat nothing but NUTRILITE, which is an Amway vitamin, mineral and dietary supplement. We drink cucumber, carrot and apple juice. We all have our own cup with our name on it. Wherever we go, we take this cup with us.
PS: No Health, No Future!
I hope everyone can learn more about his or her health from my introduction, and take care of yourself!
That is all! Thank you!
